SCHOLARSHIPS

The Academy of St. Adalbert is an approved provider for the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship, Autism Scholarship and the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. To learn more about these scholarships visit the Ohio Department of Education page here.

JON PETERSON SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOLARSHIP

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their district of residence. The amount of each scholarship will be based on the disability identified on the student’s IEP and will not exceed $20,000.  Click here to print an application.

EDCHOICE EXPANSION SCHOLARSHIP

Tuition at the Academy of St. Adalbert could be more affordable than you think using the EdChoice "Expansion" program! Created in 2013, this Income-Based Scholarship Program is an expansion of the EdChoice Scholarship Program that provides scholarships to students from working class families to be used toward tuition at the participating private school of their choice and is renewable through high school graduation.

What is the value of the scholarship?

The EdChoice Scholarship amount is currently $4,650 for grades K-8 and $6,000 for grades 9-12. EdChoice will pay either the scholarship amount or the private school's actual tuition amount, whichever is less.

Do I qualify for this?

You may qualify if your:

- Student is eligible to enter kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth grade for the fall of 2019;

- Student does not live in the Cleveland Municipal School District; and

- Family household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the 2019-20 school year

Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year is now open. For more information, visit the EdChoice page at the Ohio Department of Education website. Any student entering grades K-6 whose family’s income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines is eligible to apply for the upcoming school year, unless they are eligible for the EdChoice Scholarship. Each school year, a new grade will be added. For example, incoming fifth-grade students were eligible to apply for the scholarship for the 2018-19  school year. This scholarship is based on income only and is available in any part of the state.

The Academy of St. Adalbert is the ONLY Catholic School in the surrounding area that currently is an EdChoice provider!

AUTISM SCHOLARSHIP

The Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) gives the parents of children with autism who qualify for a scholarship the choice to send the child to a special education program other than the one operated by the school district of residence to receive their education and the services outlined in the child’s individualized education program (IEP).
