EXTRACURRICULAR

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

The Academy of St. Adalbert offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities for our student-body. Ranging from in-school organizations to after school clubs, there is something for everybody! Our programs include: Girl and Boy Scouts, Student Council, Literary Club, Ski Club, Enrichment Programs and so much more!

PERFORMING ARTS

Each school year our talented students perform in two all-school musicals at the end of each semester. Students in grades 4th - 8th are encouraged to take a more active role in the productions by auditioning for a speaking part or assisting with our Tech Crew. Rehearsals for these roles are held after school and provide students with a chance to expand their horizons, work as a team and fosters a sense of confidence within themselves and their peers. For information on our upcoming production, please refer to our Events Page or contact our Performing Arts Director, Mrs. Mary Wetter, at mwetter@saintadalbert.org.

ATHLETICS

We are proud to be able to offer our students a variety of team sports both through our Boosters Organization and CYO Athletics. The Boosters organization provides a well-attended intramural sports program of soccer, basketball and volleyball for students in grades Kindergarten through third. The Catholic Youth Organization, or CYO Athletics, has been an important part of the Academy of St. Adalbert and parish life since 1960. Our “Blackhawk” teams have represented our community with pride and excellent sportsmanship throughout the years as is evident by the many trophies and awards on display!

CYO offers the following sports programs for students in grades 4th - 8th:

  • Soccer

  • Basketball

  • Volleyball

  • Baseball

  • Football

  • Wrestling

  • Fast-Pitch Softball

  • Bowling

  • Cheerleading

Christian living through athletics is the philosophy of CYO. Each year two special awards are given to a deserving 8th grade girl and boy who through their daily living demonstrate the high ideals of citizenship, sportsmanship and leadership. For the boys, the Father John Solinski Award is given each year in memory of our past Pastor. For the girls, the Sister Angela Award is given each year in memory of the founder of the Felician Sisters. These are our highest awards given in honor of sport.

Coaches are trained to promote the development of Christian values, physical skills, psychological skills, social skills, emotional growth and spiritual strength in each athlete. Many of the St. Adalbert teams annually win various league and tournament championships.
